Visitors: numbers, busiest times and journeys.
The Visitors page shows who uses your guide and when: how many are new, your busiest hours, how long a visit lasts, and the languages and phones they use.
Steps
-
In the sidebar, under Insights, click Visitors.
-
The tiles show Views, how many visitors were New or Returning, and how many Languages they speak.
-
Peak hour, Busiest day and Quietest hour show when your guide is used most and least.
-
Journeys shows how long a visit lasts, how many exhibits people scan, and the exhibits where most visits start and finish.
-
Busiest times is a grid of days and hours from 8am to 8pm. The darker the square, the busier that hour.
-
Languages spoken and Devices show the languages visitors' phones are set to and the phones they use. Switch Devices between Brands, OS and Browser.
-
Visitor origin shows the country visitors connect from. How visitors arrive shows whether they scanned your signs (“QR / direct”) or found you on the web.
Good to know
- Everything follows the time period chosen at the top of the page.
- New and returning numbers, and Journeys, need a week of visitor counting before they appear.
- Journeys may point out an exhibit that few visits include. Better signs on the way to it can help.
- Busiest times and Quietest hour are handy for planning talks, feeds and maintenance.
- If you use Discovery badges, a Discovery trail block shows how many visitors scanned, earned a badge, completed a trail and claimed a reward.
- Taps on Live Labels wall screens are counted separately and never add to your visitor numbers.
