Add an animal or object.

Every animal, species or object in your guide lives inside an exhibit. Add it to the right exhibit and it appears on that exhibit's page for visitors.

Steps

   In the sidebar, under Content, click Exhibits & Objects.

   Click the row of the exhibit it belongs in. Its animals and objects open.

   Below the list, click + Add New Object.

   In Object Type, choose Animal for a named individual, or Species for a kind of animal.

   Fill in the fact file, starting with Common Name and Scientific Name, then the descriptions below them.

   TipOnly the exhibit and the type have to be filled in. Everything else is optional, so you can come back to it.

   As you type, the phone on the right shows the page visitors will see.

   Click Save & publish to show it to visitors now, or Save as draft to keep it hidden until it's ready.

   

Good to know

• Start with lets you copy an animal you've already added. A copy in a different exhibit keeps the same Object ID, which is how the same species can appear in more than one exhibit. A copy in the same exhibit gets a new Object ID, so the original stays as it is.
• The Object ID is filled in for you.
• What you type is saved in this browser as you go, so a lost connection doesn't lose your work.
