Remove the sample exhibit.
The sample exhibit is a practice exhibit you can add from the Get set up checklist. It's called “Sample Exhibit (safe to delete)” and holds two sample fact files: Splash, a Common Clownfish, and a Blue Tang. Remove it once you've seen how things work.
Steps
-
In the sidebar, click Home.
-
Below the Get set up list, click Remove the sample exhibit.
-
Click Remove sample to confirm. The sample exhibit and its two sample fact files are deleted, and the page reloads without them.
Another way
- If you've dismissed the checklist, delete the exhibit like any other in Exhibits & Objects. This way its fact files aren't deleted: they move to Unassigned, at the bottom of the list, and you delete them there.
Good to know
- Removing the sample can't be undone.
- Anything else you've added to the sample exhibit isn't deleted. It moves to Unassigned in Exhibits & Objects.
- The sample exhibit is hidden from visitors, so it never shows in your guide. A sample added before 26 October 2026 was visible to visitors: if yours says Active in Exhibits & Objects, remove it or set it to Hidden.
