Change a question's type or order.
You can change any survey question's wording, answers, type, position and whether it's required. Visitors see the change the next time they open the survey.
Steps
-
In the sidebar, under Insights, click Feedback.
-
Under Survey Questions, find the question and click Edit in its row. The Edit Question form opens below the list.
-
To change its type, choose a new Question Type. Rating Scale fills in 1 to 5. Multiple Choice lets you type your own answers. Yes/No and Text Response need no answers.
-
Change the answers in Answer Options. Click + Add Option for another, or the cross beside an answer to remove it.
-
In Display Order, type the question's position: 1 for the first question, 2 for the next, and so on.
TipLeave Display Order empty to keep the question where it is.
-
Tick or untick Required Question. Visitors must answer a required question to go on, and can skip the others.
-
Click Save Question.
Good to know
- The list shows each question with its type, whether it's required, and its section.
- Editing a question keeps its place in the list unless you change Display Order or Section Name.
- To put every question in order, edit each one in turn and give it its own Display Order number.
- Keep all your questions in the same Section Name. Questions are grouped by section first, so a different section can change the order.
- Only the first six questions in the list are asked, so put the ones that matter most at the top.
- To remove a question, click Delete in its row and confirm. Answers visitors have already given are kept.
- To check the result, click Open your survey above the list.
