Make a forwarding link.
A forwarding link is a short link of your own that sends people on to any web page, such as a charity appeal or a booking page. Put its QR code on a sign, and Curious counts every scan.
Steps
-
In the sidebar, under Content, click Forwarding Links.
-
Click + Add New Link.
-
Type a Name so you know what the link is for, and paste the web address it should go to into Destination URL.
TipThe address must start with https:// or http://. If it doesn't, a message under the box says what to fix.
-
Optionally, type a Destination name for the splash screen, and a Custom code for the end of the link.
TipLeave Custom code blank and Curious makes one for you. Codes use 3 to 32 lower-case letters, numbers and hyphens.
-
Choose your Options. Show a branded splash screen before forwarding is ticked to start with.
-
Click Save Link. The new link appears in the list.
Good to know
- Links look like get-curio.us/1234/l/coral-fund. Click Copy next to a link to copy the full address.
- The short link is fixed once it's made, but you can change where it goes at any time, so printed signs keep working.
- The splash screen shows your logo and "Taking you to" the Destination name (or the website's address), then moves on after a couple of seconds, with a Continue button.
- Tag the destination with UTM parameters adds utm_source=curious to the address, so the other website's own statistics can tell the visits came from your QR code.
- If you choose a code that's already used on your site, Curious says That code is already in use on this site. Choose another.
- Forwarding links are on the Engage and Accelerate plans.
